We finally did it, we left our security place of Elkart,In and traveled to Indianapolis. Well lets back up a minute it wouldnt be normal for nothing to go wrong...... We had to back up after pulling into a place to check our tires and Jim was turning the truck almost at a 90 degree angle and we pulled the electrical cord from the hitch to the 5th wheel . Well God was with us we stopped before the wires were broken and off to the Ford place to see if we could get the part that snapped off. Well of course its a new model so nothing is ever in stock so we had to put a hose clamp on it which is a quick fix till we get somewhere where we will be staying for awhile so they can order it to the tune of about $50 -$60!!!! What we found out was that we never had that cord stretched to its fullest, it was caught up in the hitch so a lesson well learned at a farelly inexpensive rate compared if all the wires were involved. Then that put us behind an so guess what time we arrived in Indianapolis, yep rush hour just like when we came to Elkart!!!!!!!!Then we get here to fine our first stop is very crowded and nothing but rvs lined up in a field!!!!!but we did good parking just thank goodness we had a pull through!!!!That night it was 7pm we were exhausted but hungry so we went downtown to Webers Grill where the whole place is about weber grills. The fence outside where you could eat had the round grill racks as part of the fence and you enter an you can see them cooking. There must have been 15 different huge weber grills that they were cooking on. Very cool place. We then walked around and saw alot of neat statues at night.
Friday We headed out to see the Indianapolis Motor Speedway . That was very interesting.
We then visited The capitol building with a guided tour which was extremelly interesting. The building has been restored back to the original in alot of places. We walked around downtown and saw many monuments and a beautiful church. Then off to Indianapolis museum of art, which was huge. Time went very fast . Its a keeper and we will have to come back.
On Sat.,thru Tues. we went to Terre Haute, In. to visit friends Jerry and Miki Weaver. They were kind to us in giving us alot of gear for the 5th whee land letting us hook up at there home. We played hand and foot and the boys won the first night and we won't talk about the other games. We are praying for Jerry and his chemo treaments. We left there and went to Rockford Ill. We had a safe trip and got here 6 1/2 hours later.-we had our 1st outdoor fire which was relaxing.
