these last few days have been very stressful.  On Monday at closing the attorney for the buyers did not show up.  After two or so hours waiting for the ok, the attorney gave the ok and wired the money to the title company that  took till 4:30 before we were wired our  money.  In the mean time we were following each other to Tallasshee Fl. John set us up with a police officer friend who has been rving for a while.  He told us many things that has helped, like a motor and a transmmision on a coach have to be done by two techs and if the garage does not have both they may send out and the cost goes up and up.  Yesterday we went with Mary's to see the rvs here.  there inventory was small but we picked up some more info on rvs.  like the warenty is not covered by some rvs if you are full timers.  so much to learn so little time.  jim  4-27-11

our last days

Sorry  this is late.  We have been very busy doing the final cleaning and packing of the car.  As you saw Linda had a retirement party at work.  After 42 years it was hard to say good-buy. On Sunday the Perkins family had a going away party for us. It has been amazing how slow packing has been. Going through years of paper work then taking the important things to be ground and burned. We had around 120 pounds of papers and only cost $15.00. The phone was turned off on Tues. big mistake. We should have it done on Thur. a day we know we would not be home. We had to have folks call on the cell so I could go down to the gate to let them in.  Before we left we had to get some coconuts for Shannon's 2nd grade class.  now that everything is out of the house we had to put blow up mattress to sleep on.  On Wed. we left for Tammy's. We stopped buy Lazy Day's and talked to Jim for 5 hours. He showed us several 5th wheels and motor homes. Linda is now leaning toward a 5th wheel and I am still wanting a motor home. What will the future hold? After that we went to see our good friends the Weavers. Jerry is in the Hospital fighting cancer and a virus. We made it to Tammy's unloaded the car. we were exhausted and went to bed. Till next time Jim 4-22-11

Linda has retired.   Linda retired today after 42 years.  She was up and down with emotions.  Work gave her and me a going away party.  I hope to put some pictures on blog.   4-15-11

WHAT A WEEK THIS HAS BEEN.  WE HAVE BEEN WORKING FOR SO LONG ON THE FATHER/DAUGHTER BANQUET.  ON SAT. NIGHT WE HAD A GREAT EVENING FOR ALL THAT CAME. ON SUNDAY WE CRASHED IN THE AFTERNOON.  THAT NIGHT WE HAD A GOING AWAY PARTY FROM OUR CHURCH . WE HAD OVER 77 PEOPLE.  WE GOT LOTS OF CARDS AND GIFT CARDS IT IS HARD TO SAY GOODBY TO SO MANY LONG LIFE FRIENDS. TODAY WE PACKED AND CLEANED, CLEANED AND PACKED.  THEN REPACKED.  WE ONLY HAVE OUR COMPUTER ROOM TO PACK.

GETTING READY FOR THE MOVE THIS WEEK HAS BEEN GETTING READY FOR OUR MOVE. WE HAVE SPENT ALOT OF TIME GOING THROUGH THINGS WE HAVE GOTTEN IN THE LAST TEN YEARS. IT IS HARD TO GET ALL WE OWN TO FIT INTO A RV. LITTLE THINGS THAT I THOUGHT WOULD GO FAST END UP TAKING ALL DAY TO GO THROUGH. WE WILL BE LEAVING WITH OUR CAR AND TRUCK WITH ALL WE OWN.
THERE WAS A RV SHOW THIS WEEK END. WE TRYED NOT TO LOOK AT ANY THING BUT MOTORHOMES THIS TIME. IT HELPED BECAUSE WE WERE GETTING MOTORHOMES AND FIFTH WHEELES MIXED UP ON WHAT WOULD GO IN THEM.jim 4-6-11

WEEK TWO WE LOOKED AT MORE RVS ONLINE. WE WENT TO SEE DAN'S AUNT IN FROSTPROOF FL. THEY SHOWED US THRER RV AND TOLD US ALOT OF INFO. THEY JUST BOUGHT A NEW FORD THAT JUST CAME OUT AND GOT 17 MPG ON THERE WAY HERE FROM WI. THEY WILL TELL US WHAT IT IS WHEN THAY GET HOME PULLING THERE FIFTHWHEEL. ALSO RALPH'S SON TOLD US THAT HIS FATHER-IN-LAW SOLD RV'S IN TAMPA. WE SPOKE TO HIM AND HE HAS BEEN SENDING US EMAIL'S OF THE ONES THEY HAVE THERE. WE WILL SEE HIM THUR. BEFORE EASTER WHEN WE GO UP TO TAM'S.

cruisingwithjimandlinda THIS IS THE BEGINNING. LINDA AND I PUT OUR HOUSE UP FOR SALE AND THREE WEEKS LATER SOMEONE BOUGHT IT. WE THOUGHT WE HAD 18 MONTHS BEFORE IT WOULD SALE. GOD HAD A DIFFERENT PLAN.WHILE WE WERE IN TN. SEEING THE KIDS AND GRANDCHILDREN WE FOUND OUT THAT THE INSPECTION PASSED AND WE WOULD BE CLOSING AT THE END OF APRIL. WE LOOKED AT TWO PRIVATE OWN MOTOR HOME IN NASHVILLE. THEN ON THE WAY HOME WE WENT TO THREE RV PLACES AND CALLED THREE OTHERS. WE FOUND A FIFTH WHEEL WE LIKE CALLED KZ RECREATIONAL VEHICLES. AFTER GOING TO TWO RV SHOW IN FORT MYERS BEFORE WE LEFT TO TN. WE ARE GETTING A BETTER PICTURE OF WHAT WE WOULD LIKE OUR MOTOR HOME TO HAVE INSIDE. WE ARE NOT RUSHING INTO IT BUT WHEN WE FIND IT WE WILL KNOW. IT IS STILL HARD TO KNOW IF WE WANT FIFTH WHEEL OUR A MOTOR HOME. JIM 3-23-11
