FINAL WEEK AT SUNNYBROOK CHILDREN HOME/

Thur. I led devo today then we went up to the office and had our team picture taken. We wore the tee shirts the Sunnybrook gave everyone for working at this sojourn

We drove to the Sunnybrook farm where the kids take care of award winning cattle
Here we ate at Hamils. Boy did we get filled !

Fri. Went  to Jackson and had lunch at the Farmers Market. One of the members of Siwell Rd. COC bought our lunch.

We then went to the new capitol building that was built in 1903.  This is outside the rear of the building on the statue is a dedication to women (daughters. wives, sisters and mothers).
 the Senate and House
the stairwell door are small to make the hall way look bigger the banister's overlooking the atrium are shorter as you go up the floors.

Here is one of the old churches
This is one of the chambers in the old courthouse.  It was built on the yazoo clay and the building was 8 inches lower from one end to the other. It is now a museum of the courthouse.  There were many high school's there doing a mock trial from days gone by. When we got home we played cards and the guys won.
Sat. We went to the board meeting and the other Jim gave a devo. I worked on getting the new cable to the black water tank fixed. Linda sewed some dolls that are going to Africa for kids at a mission. Later we played cards and the guys won.

Sun. After church we went to Crackle Barrel then to the Chocolate Factory.  We got some items that were around campus  ready for Monday.
Mon. I rented a hammer drill before our meeting. After our meeting with the staff we had a surprise birthday for Elizabeth one of the housemoms.  The girls reupholstered the chairs in one of the houses and the guys got the speed bumps done.  W.E. got a bathroom faucet in and the tiles in the gym finished.  In their spare time the girls have been working on the dolls one of the house parents is taking to Africa.

Tues. We got up very early hooked up the rig to take it to the RV place to check on the brakes.  They got started an hour late because their air compressor broke.  Then when they finally got the list of thing they needed they missed the cut off time for next day air by one hour. We found out that when we greased the wheels some of the grease went out the back of the wheels and got onto the brakes. The noise that Linda was hearing was the spring that adjusts the brakes when you back up broke. So now we are paying for next day air and it will not get here till Thur. We were able to stay at a room at Sunnybrook. God is good.
Wed. The girls finished reupholstering the chairs. The guys worked some more on the boys bathroom, caulked some windows and repaired the crown molding in the hall.  After many times on hold and phone calls to Lowe's we got the two doors and one door insert that we ordered.  We had time to put two doors in .We will finish installing them Thur. Linda made turkey pot pie and we all ate dinner together before church.

We spent the day checking out the sleep number bed for it seems to be leaking air.  I also met with the window person to find out what we needed and how he wanted it done.  One of the team members is here (Mike and Kathleen) so we drove them to some of the highlight places close to here.  Mike also helped me get the list of things for the windows. After dinner they came over and we watched  "RV".

Fri. we got up got our mail and everything we been waiting for was there.  We went to a Italian restaurant for lunch (Tony's).  Then we had to go to a ATM to use my new debit card. We went to a produce market and Radio Shack to get things for the antenna in the front room.  After many hours of working with the parts it still does not work well.  Hardy and Dianne come over to play cards and the guys won.

Sat. We got the laundry and  truck washed. Then we left to Tammy and Kenn's.  When we got there Linda worked with Hope to make an Easter bunny cake and I helped Kenn with the two chairs he is redoing. The boys helped at the end decorating the cake.

Sun. The Easter bunny was good it brought over 140 real and plastic eggs.  There were hid in and out of the house. Everyone  got a Easter basket.

For breakfast we had rolls.  We took crescent roll put butter for the oil used on Jesus, Then Cinnamon for the spices and a marshmallow show for Jesus.  We rolled the marshmallow and baked while Kenn read the story from Matthew.  The kids were the guards to make sure that no one took the marshmallow out of the oven.  When we open the oven the rolls were empty(tomb) and there was the linen cloth by the rolls.
