New Phone - Sojourn at Mt Dora

Thur.  We had a half day at the workshop then our sojourn hug.  We said goodbye to folks then I work on our game (pegs and Jokers see picture below).  After dinner we played cards.

Fri.  We got up and found it very cold mid 20'2 wind chill in the teens.  After breakfast we went to a computer class. After our classes we bought our new I-phone 6.  We spent most of the day at the Apple Store.  We were happy to get everything set up.  We then went to Tam's where Hope and Linda made meat loaf  for dinner.  I went and played ball with the boys.

Sat. We got up had breakfast and after our bible study I went and worked on the game I am making.  Seven of us went to dinner for fish.  When we got home we played cards because one of the couples is for Ky. basketball team and they were playing Auburn.

Sun. We went to church then out to eat.  In the afternoon we had our meeting for the sojourn we are doing for the next three weeks at Mt. Dora Christian Home and Bible School.  Soon to be named Christian Bible Academy. We then went to church then went with Mike and Kathleen to a yogurt shop.

Mon.  When we got to the school we all met at the cafeteria for a devo (they also have coffee, juice, and snacks).  My job is to make storage area under the four stairs in the gym. At noon the school gives us a nice lunch with a special dessert each day.  When we got home Linda was tired and hurting from using muscles that have not been used for a while (she was pressure washing).  I did a load of laundry and we went to bed.

Tues. Linda did some painting of the bleachers that she cleaned Mon.  I kept working on the storage area.  After we got home the team was invited back to the school for dinner by the house parents.  Both houses came with the kids.  We ate with a 14 year old girl who was a native American from Az.

Wed.  We worked at school then went shopping at their thrift store.  We had dinner then went shopping and church.

2nd Week of Workshop

Thur.  We got up did a load of wash got ready to have breakfast when Tammy called to tell us she needed help.  She was having a bad back ache.  We got ready, drove to her house, got her and took her to Kenn's office.  We missed our workshop but we both got an adjustment (Linda was having neck problems)from Kenn.  When Tam was felling better we went to Chipotle's for lunch.  We got Kenn a lunch to go then drove to Tam's.  Linda cooked dinner and made homemade chicken noodle soup for them tomorrow.  I went and picked up the boys from school then later I picked up Hope.  I was able to play cards and basketball with the boys.  Linda was able to cook with Hope they made pineapple upside down cake.  It tasted great with the pasta salad. After dinner we drove to some stores to look at cases for Linda's future I phone 6 then drove to the rig.

Fri. It was catch up day.  We had a lot of things that had to be done on the rig and it needed to be cleaned inside and out.  We also got some paperwork that had been piling up.  After dinner we went to Lloyd and Dottie's to play pegs and jokers with them, us, and Floyd and Jenny.  It was a great battle and the guys won 3 out of 5 games.

Sat. After breakfast we went shopping then to Brendan's football game (middle top and bottom pictures).  When we got home we ate the soup Tam's family was going to eat on Fri. night.  We found out that they went to a Valentine dinner at their Church.  After the soup we ate the other cake that Hope and Linda made on Thur.  I played cards, basketball, and football with the boys.  Linda and Hope cooked for dinner (top right Picture)  for the kids (chicken, french fries, and asparagus) and adults (cornish hen, rice, and asparagus).  All of us had part of the big cookie they made ( bottom right picture).  We had a nice evening together (top and middle left picture and in the middle of the picture).

Sun. After church we went shopping then home for lunch.  We took a walk then I got caught up with the blog., talked with my Dad, then to Church for evening service. We were both tired so to bed early tried to watch SNL 40th but fell asleep.

Mon.  We made 4 coffee cakes and cut up fruit for the break.  Others brought stuff also we had 2 coffee cakes left over.  At lunch I cut all of the boards for pegs and jokers and Linda finished painting the pegs different colors.  They had four teams for trivia questions on 2 Samuel Linda missed 3 and I 2 out of twenty. We then went to the the kitchen to help prepare the food for tomorrows banquet. After dinner we went to a sing along, then we had ice cream with toppings.

Tues. After our devo at workshop we went with Jim and Barbara Pratt to Orlando RV.   There were a lot of nice used and new ones but not what we are looking for.  They have one coming in in two months that we might like they are sending us pictures.  We went to lunch at Olive Garden, coffee at Starbucks, and take home dessert at Cheesecake Factory.  When we got home I sanded our game then to our banquet.

Wed. We had our last full day at the workshop.  It has been a wonderful workshop with many great speakers and lots of snack food.  We went to church tonight after we went shopping.

1st week Workshop

Thur.  We had a computer class then went to Tam's.  Linda made Tam's favorite dinner and we all benefited it was delicious.  I played basketball with the boys.  After dinner we played cards.  Just as we were leaving I pulled Bryce's tooth.

 Fri. We drove to the Villages to visit the Botts.  We caught up on our lives then they took us on a grand tour of the place. Unbelievable place!! In the center of the picture is the four of us.  Across the top is one of the rec. centers which every center is is done in a theme, this one is to the Vets of WW2. Bottom left is a dessert which we will try next time we see them. The next bottom three pictures is another rec. center.  Then the two on the right the large lake taken from the restaurant we ate at.

Sat. We tried to sleep in but got up early and way.  After breakfast we got cleaning, I washed the rig and Linda clean the inside.  We took a walk and talked to several folks.  After dinner we relaxed and played backgammon then went  to bed early.

Sun. Was a very busy day.  We went to church and afterward they had a luncheon for the golden age and sojourners.  At three we had a coffee get together for the sojourners to sign in at for the work shop.  We then went to church and came home and played cards.

Mon. We got up walked and did laundry.  We ate went to our morning session and of course they had a snack mid morning.  We had lunch then our afternoon session.  After dinner we sang and had a ice cream get together.

Tues.  After breakfast we went to our meeting for the Sojourners.  We are having a different speaker each day.  Both of the speakers have been GREAT.  Half way into his talk we have a break and different people get a snack together for everyone to share.  Our turn is Mon. (top photo below) After the meeting today the girls had a luncheon and one of the ladies spoke (bottom right picture).  The guys also had a luncheon and one of the ministers from a local congregation came and spoke (bottom left picture).  I got the rig ready for the repair man to fix (the heater that broke last Nov).

Wed.  We ate breakfast then went to our meeting.  While the guest speaker was talking the repair man came and fixed our rig.  YEA we now have heat.  After lunch we went to a CPR course.  It was nice to get refreshed on CPR.  After dinner we both got a hair cut. Then shopping before church.

Dad's 91st b-day

Thur. We got up and went to Skidder's for breakfast.  Then to his Dr's office to get a paper to get a handicap sticker for his car.  The Dr. was not in so tomorrow.  Before dinner he opened his presents.  Had some of our wonderful White Christmas coffee (as you can see he does not like flavor coffee).  He had prearranged for ribs at Skidder's (they were delicious).  We evan had the double chocolate cake that when Jennifer is here they share.

Fri. After breakfast we went to the Dr's. then left there and went to the tax coll. to get the sticker.  We went to Mazzro's (they are like a high end Fresh Market).  We did get bread, cheese, Chocolate Reese's Mousse Ball and eclair.

Sat. Breakfast at Skidder's then to Dad's to work on his recorder, do the blog. and get the crock pot ready for dinner. An evening watching movies and talking.

Sun.  After breakfast at Skidder's,dad we went to church with us, came home for lunch then started our Superbowl party early (did we eat and eat).  We all stayed up and watched the game. The out come New England over Seattle was what we and Shannon all wanted.  The text during the game from the four families made it a lot of fun.

Mon.  After breakfast at Skidder's we got Dad's voters and drivers liscense changed to his new address.  We had lunch then worked on doing the vhs to dvd on his recorder. We drove to Best Buy to see why it did not record like it should.  We got it to work came home and recorded  a show..

Tues.  Breakfast at Skidder's then in the afternoon we had Hamburgers their ( Linda and I both think theirs is the best) We got home and watched some special movies Dad had taped.

Wed. Our last breakfast for awhile at Skidder's.  When we got home we packed and left for Lazy Days to look for our dream motorhome.  We did find some that we liked so we are going to pray about them and see what God has in mind for us. We left to go home only to sit in stand still traffic due to an accident.  By the time we got home we were both tired.  We got everything put away then to bed..
